OVERVIEW
Dr. Todd Holyoak’s lab discovers hidden enzymes in misannotated enzyme families and studies how their structures affect function, catalysis, dynamics, and allosteric regulation through computational and biochemical approaches. We build on fundamental protein research to design inhibitors and engineer enzymes for biomedical and biotechnological applications. Beyond uncovering new enzymes, we also study medically relevant proteins, such as SARS-CoV2 main protease, to elucidate the structural and biochemical dynamics that underlie their role in disease.
